In plain English
Use Ottonomous for your own legitimate business. Don't contact people without consent, don't send content carriers ban, don't misrepresent vehicles or fake reviews, don't publish AI output that deceives, and don't try to break or resell the platform. We enforce this to protect our customers, their customers, and our carrier and platform relationships.
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy is part of our Terms of Use. It exists because the Ottonomous platform sends messages through carriers, publishes content to Google and Meta, and acts on your behalf with AI. Misuse by one customer can cut off access for everyone. Ottonomous Technologies Inc ("we") may suspend or terminate access for violations.
2. General rules
You may not use the Services to:
- violate any law, regulation, or the rights of others, including consumer protection, advertising, lending, privacy, and intellectual property laws;
- deceive, defraud, harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone;
- impersonate a person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- collect, use, or disclose personal information without a lawful basis and the notices the law requires;
- transmit malware, or attempt to probe, scan, overload, or breach the Services or any connected system;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Services, or use them to build a competing product; or
- resell or provide the Services to third parties except as expressly permitted in your agreement with us.
3. Messaging and calling
You may not:
- message or call anyone without the consent required by law and our Messaging Terms;
- upload or message purchased, rented, or scraped contact lists;
- ignore or delay an opt-out, or contact someone who asked you to stop;
- send content that carriers prohibit, including content involving sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco, or cannabis (the "SHAFT" categories), illegal substances, gambling, or get-rich-quick schemes;
- send third-party lead generation, affiliate marketing, debt collection, or high-risk financial offers;
- use misleading sender names, spoofed numbers, or URL shorteners that hide the destination;
- record calls without any notice the law requires; or
- use automated voice or messaging to make unsolicited robocalls or robotexts.
4. AI-generated content and automation
Our AI features act under your settings. You are responsible for their output and their actions. You may not:
- publish or send AI-generated content without the review your industry rules require, including advertising claims, prices, financing terms, and manufacturer-mandated disclosures;
- misrepresent a vehicle's condition, history, features, mileage, availability, or price, including by generating or editing images or video that hide damage or show equipment the vehicle does not have;
- generate or post fake reviews, testimonials, or engagement, or ask AI to pose as a customer;
- generate content that infringes trademarks or copyrights, including unauthorized use of manufacturer logos or copyrighted imagery;
- generate content depicting real people without their permission, or content that is sexual, violent, hateful, or intended to deceive;
- configure autonomy settings that allow actions you are not permitted to take, such as changing prices, sending offers, or spending budget without required internal approval; or
- use assistants to access data or systems that the User running them is not authorized to access.
5. Websites and advertising
For websites we host or content we publish for you, you may not:
- run deceptive advertising, bait-and-switch offers, hidden fees, or pricing that violates state advertising rules;
- publish content that violates Google, Meta, or manufacturer advertising policies, including the policies of any co-op or brand program you participate in;
- use cloaking, hidden text, link schemes, or other tactics intended to manipulate search engines; or
- collect visitor information without a compliant privacy notice and, where required, consent.
6. Connected accounts
You may connect only accounts you own or are authorized to use. You may not share, sell, or expose data obtained from a connected service beyond what that service's terms allow, and you must remove connections for users who leave your organization.
7. Security
Report suspected vulnerabilities to [email protected]. Do not exploit a vulnerability, access data that is not yours, or disrupt the Services while investigating. We will not pursue good-faith researchers who follow this guidance.
8. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, suspend messaging, disable features, or suspend or terminate accounts. We will notify you where practical and give you an opportunity to cure minor issues. We may report activity that violates the law to authorities. We may also suspend without notice where carriers, platform partners, or the law require it, or where the risk of harm is high.
9. Reporting abuse
To report abuse involving a business that uses Ottonomous, email [email protected] with the phone number, website, or content involved. If you received an unwanted text, reply STOP first, then let us know.
