- Applies to
- Platform users, connected-account owners, and customers of businesses that use Ottonomous
In plain English
You can disconnect any linked account in Settings, which deletes its tokens and cached data. Removing Ottonomous from your Facebook or Google account does the same from their side. To delete everything, delete your account in Settings or email [email protected], and we'll confirm within 30 days.
1. Delete data from a connected Facebook or Instagram account
Ottonomous uses Facebook Login and Meta's platform APIs so a business can connect its Facebook Page, Instagram account, ad account, or messaging channels. To delete the data we received from Meta, use any of the following:
Option A: Disconnect in Ottonomous.
- Sign in to the platform and open Settings, then Connections.
- Find the Meta connection and choose Disconnect.
- We immediately revoke and delete the access token. Cached Page, Instagram, ad account, lead, and conversation data received from Meta is deleted within 30 days, except records the Business must keep for legal reasons (for example, a message log required for messaging compliance), which are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
Option B: Remove Ottonomous from your Facebook account.
- In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Apps and Websites.
- Find Ottonomous and choose Remove.
- Meta sends us a data-deletion request. We delete the data as in Option A and record a confirmation code you can use to check status by emailing [email protected].
Option C: Email us. Send a request to [email protected] with the subject line "Meta data deletion" from the email on your Ottonomous account, or include your Facebook Page name and the Business it belongs to. We will confirm the deletion within 30 days.
2. Delete data from a connected Google account
- In Ottonomous, open Settings, then Connections, and disconnect the Google account. Tokens are revoked and deleted immediately, and cached Google data is deleted within 30 days.
- You can also revoke Ottonomous's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. We stop accessing the account as soon as the token is revoked and delete cached data within 30 days.
3. Delete data from other connected services
Disconnect any other connected service (dealer management system, CRM, inventory feed, telephony, or other integration) in Settings, then Connections. Tokens and credentials are deleted immediately, and synced data is deleted within 30 days unless the Business chooses to keep records it owns (for example, customer records that also live in its CRM).
4. Delete your user profile
If you are an employee or contractor of a business that uses Ottonomous:
- Ask your Store administrator to remove you from the Store, or
- Email [email protected] from your account email with the subject "Delete my profile".
We delete your profile and personal connections within 30 days. Work you contributed to the Business (for example, knowledge documents or messages sent on its behalf) belongs to the Business and remains in its account, attributed to a deactivated user.
5. Delete an entire business account
A Store administrator can delete the Store in Settings, then Your store, then Delete store, or email [email protected] from an administrator account. We will:
- disable access immediately and cancel remaining subscriptions;
- keep an export available for 30 days on request; and
- delete or de-identify all Customer Content within 90 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax, or security reasons and backups that are overwritten within 35 days.
6. If you are a customer of a business that uses Ottonomous
If a dealership or other business used Ottonomous to communicate with you or store your information, that business controls your data. Contact the business to request deletion. You can also email [email protected] and we will forward your request and help the business respond. To stop text messages, reply STOP to the message.
7. What we keep after deletion
After a deletion request we may keep: records required by law (including messaging consent and opt-out records for at least four years, as carrier guidance recommends), billing and tax records, security and abuse logs, and aggregated data that no longer identifies anyone. Backups are overwritten within 35 days.
8. Confirmation and status
We acknowledge every request within 10 days and confirm completion within 30 days. If we need more time for a complex request, we will tell you why and when to expect completion. Contact [email protected] with any confirmation code you received to check status.
