In plain English
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. We don't use advertising cookies on our site. You can control cookies in your browser, and non-essential cookies are off until you allow them where the law requires.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and software development kits. We use them on ottonomous.ai and in the Ottonomous platform, operated by Ottonomous Technologies Inc.
2. The cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in, session security, load balancing, fraud prevention, and remembering your cookie choices. The Services do not work without them. | Session token, CSRF token, cookie consent | Session to 12 months |
| Preferences | Remembering settings such as your default Store, layout choices, and dismissed notices. | Stored in cookies or local storage | Up to 12 months |
| Analytics | Understanding which pages and features are used so we can improve them. Data is aggregated and we do not use it for advertising. | First-party or privacy-focused analytics | Up to 24 months |
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on the Site. If we add a service that does, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires.
3. Websites we host for customers
Businesses that use Ottonomous to run their own websites choose which cookies and tags those sites use, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or Meta Pixel. Those sites carry their own cookie notices. The business you dealt with, not Ottonomous, is responsible for them.
4. How to control cookies
- Browser settings. Every major browser lets you delete cookies and block new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.
- Consent banner. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, they stay off until you accept them, and you can change your choice from the link in the site footer.
- Analytics opt-out. If we use a third-party analytics provider, we will link to its opt-out here.
- Global Privacy Control. We treat a GPC signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing, which we do not do in any case.
5. Changes
We will update this page when the cookies we use change and update the date at the top.
